George believes the Governor’s so called prisoner realignment poses significant risks to public safety. By reducing parole, and in some cases early release for criminals, the politicians have made the shift from state prison facilities to county facilities that much riskier. Not only does George oppose early release and the Governor’s realignment, his record includes expanding Megan’s Law because he believes sexual offenders who prey on our children deserve the stiffest penalties.
Investing in our Children’s Classrooms. George would have voted against the trigger cuts recently passed by the legislature. Rather than reducing our school year and the elimination of the successful Cal Grant program, George would have supported reductions in other areas of our state budget to protect education funding. Moreover, George supports innovative solutions to educations such as charter schools and school vouchers to allow students in low performance schools the ability to transfer to successful schools.
